NeuronicWorks Partners with Onion Corporation to Bring Drop-In Connectivity Solutions to Your IoT Product
Toronto, Ontario - October 5th, 2020
NeuronicWorks, Inc., one of Canada’s leading engineering and technology design firms, has announced a new partnership with Onion Corporation. A Boston-based company specializing in the development of computing and connectivity devices for the Internet of Things (IoT), Onion’s team of technology enthusiasts, creators, and strivers has developed a variety of drop-in solutions that help customers build connected products easily and with reduced development time.
As one of Onion’s first engineering design partners, NeuronicWorks will provide the knowledge, training, and expertise to incorporate Onion’s solutions into their designs. Onion will benefit from NeuronicWorks’ support in the form of technical assistance to their customers.
Onion offers low-cost, production-ready platforms for applications that require drop-in connectivity and computing. Through their small form factors, high power efficiency, and processing, networking, and encryption capabilities, Onion solutions make the perfect IoT computers to use for connected hardware applications.
“We’re thrilled to be one of Onion’s first engineering design partners,” said Titu Botos, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NeuronicWorks, Inc. “There so many applications for the kinds of drop-in, low-power solutions that Onion is pioneering, and we’re excited to bring this technology to our customers and their designs.”
Onion’s premiere product, the Omega2S, is a Wi-Fi-enabled, Linux compute module, designed specifically for IoT applications. It provides a drop-in, low-power solution ideal for building IoT hubs and devices.
“Being able to offer the Omega2S means huge benefits for our clients,” said Botos. “It means lower development time for advanced WiFi features, since we don’t need to start from scratch. And because the Omega2S is FCC and CE pre-certified it means our clients can get to market faster. The Omega2S’s compact size means we can design smaller devices and have lower BOM costs because the device is a self-contained module that includes CPU, memory, flash storage, a WiFi radio, and general purpose I/O pins. Plus, the Omega2S is ISED certified, meaning it can be used in tough industrial environments and operate -40˚C to +85˚C. It’s going to let us explore new possibilities with our clients, and that’s very exciting.”
